During the frenzied holiday season, do you need a moment to pause, breathe and revel in nature? In his new book, Simple Beauty: The Art of Texture, Form & Colour, George Fischer gives viewers the opportunity to immerse themselves in pure serenity.
“In this book, I have made it my mission to unearth the tiniest moments of simple beauty and share them for readers’ enjoyment, relaxation and sensibility,” he says. “Many of my images, once etched on the mind, can serve as oases of tranquillity to be recalled on demand for moments of escape from all the busyness.”
Natural Stillness in Peaceful Photographs
In 300 photos, Fischer creates a sense of stillness by framing the extraordinary beauty of everyday scenes. These peaceful images, including a shimmering waterfall and peaceful beach, lead to moments of instantaneous relaxation. The talented photographer’s ability to create compositions with dramatic shadows and illuminating sunlight and moonlight help overly busy minds focus on nature’s artistry.
George Fischer, one of Canada’s most renowned and prolific landscape photographers, has published more than 55 books and 50 art posters from sites around the world. His work has also appeared on the covers of numerous international magazines and newspapers and in the promotional publications of tourism agencies around the world.
Bestseller List and Ontario Tourism Award of Excellence in Photography
His book entitled Unforgettable Canada was on The Globe and Mail’s bestseller list for 8 weeks and sold more than 50,000 copies. In November 2017, Fischer received the Ontario Tourism Award of Excellence in Photography.
