Film
Anchorage International Film Festival

From Dec. 1 to 10, the Anchorage International Film
Festival (AIFF) will take hungry movie-goers in from
the cold, so they can bask in hot films from around
the globe. America's northernmost independent film
festival is getting ready for a record-breaking 6th
year, offering more than 170 unique and
independent films from Argentina to New Zealand
(see right, below).

Just some of the special events include an opening-
night gala and an international filmmaker forum.
Participants will meet and greet international
filmmaker and industry guests. All visitors are
encouraged to tout their films and tell others about
themselves and their latest projects.

The culmination of the AIFF is the Golden Oosik
Awards Ceremony. The diverse juries comprise
individuals from the community with original and
objective viewpoints who select films for awards.
The goal is simply to recognize the best films of the
festival and thank filmmakers for their commitment
to the art of independent film. This event is
exclusively for AIFF Pass holders only.

New Zealand - 7:40 minutes - Super Short

In every relationship, we make choices--
sometimes right and sometimes wrong, but of
trust and intimacy and shows us how fragile these
things are. How easily they can be broken. A
woman and a man are in love. They trust each
other. And everything else flows from that. But what
happens if that trust is broken? What can a
relationship survive? And when we are left alone,
how do we live with our regrets?
Us asks these
questions by taking us into a woman's mind--
where we learn, little by little, that what seemed so
secure is not necessarily so, and in the middle of
the night, when dreams and memory intermingle,
nothing is as it appears. What do we have to lose?
